Congratulations! You have made the decision to purchase a mobile home. What next? We have put together some key points to consider while selecting the perfect fit for you and your family.
Find the Ideal Location for your Mobile Home
Location – Before deciding on what mobile home to purchase, it is important that you find a location that suits you. Some questions to ask yourself include:
- Are you comfortable commuting the distance from your home on a regular basis?
- Are the local amenities you need close enough to the park? E.g., shop, pub, beach, golf etc.
Park – Once an area is chosen, have a think about what facilities you require from your park. Facilities that can be found in some but not every park include controlled entrance, playing field, playground, games room, laundry, take-away.
Decide what is essential for you to help determine what parks to check availability in.
Cost – It is important to ascertain the costs involved with the specific park. Each park will have an annual fee, some parks may also charge an entrance fee at the time you buy your mobile home.
You also need to be aware of any additional charges e.g., electric, rubbish, water. This along with the general rules and regulations of the specific park are particularly important to know.Site – Once a location and park has been found, you need to confirm the size of your site as this will have an impact on the range of mobile homes you can choose from

Buying, Delivery and After Sales
Finance – Once your decision is made, a deposit will need to be paid with the balance due before delivery on site. Payment is required in full, and no payment plans are in place. Funding is often done through banks and the Credit Union.
Transport / delivery – All mobile homes from Kenneally Holiday Homes are delivered and sited to the highest standards with our trained staff using specially designed equipment for the job. All deliveries are fully insured until the job has been completed.
Insurance – Parks will require your mobile home to be insured. Most people put their mobile home onto their house insurance, but some companies will take them on as a standalone policy. Kenneally Holiday Homes provide valuations for insurance quotes if required.
Maintenance and repair – At Kenneally Holiday Homes, we provide a mobile home repair service for all warranty issues and have a huge network of contacts throughout Ireland who provide many repair services to the caravan industry. We also sell mobile home accessories such as skylights and mobile home water heaters.
It is important that all mobile homes are drained down for the winter and that all recommendations from the manufacture are carried out in relation to the maintenance of your mobile home.
Decking – Some parks allow decking to be added to your mobile home to add another dimension to your mobile home experience. Kenneally Holiday Homes work with a company called Castle PVC who has built decks for many of our customers over the last few years. Visit www.casltepvc.ie for more information.
